smc PENTAX-DA 70mm F2.4 Limited is announced. Pentax Limited lenses are known for their optical quality and pancake design. This lens is only one inch wide. Pentax - keep the good work!
PENTAX K10D - if you want to use Pentax' excellent lenses from limited edition - you should buy this body. With 10MP sensor, shake-reduction, dust removal system, dust-proof and water-resistant body construction - this might be a winner. Pentax bodies are usually little cheaper than Canon / Nikon ones, so combined withthose features, this might be a good start for a newcommers. And Pentax has integrated few more features in it.
Olympus
Olympus E-400 - it is announced as The world’s smallest digital SLR. I am not sure what people like in small dSLR bodies, but all manufacturers are making them smaller and smaller. This one is equiped with 10MP (again), and Olympus says that even if the body is small, its features are like a pro. We'll see.
Canon Powershot G7 - obviously Canon is going to announce a lot of products this year. G7 has 6x zoom - 35-210mm focal length, 35mm equivalent. I am not sure if this is a good wide side, as some compacts have wider lenses, Sony for example. The other things are just great: Digic III, 10MP (more than any amateur will ever need), 1600ISO, face detection system, and more. Some say that G6 was not a good camera, we will have to wait for the production tests of g7 to see if people from Canon have learned something from that story.
